Boeri appointed as curator of the Salone del Mobile

New developments include opening the fair to the public and the sale of products at Rho Fiera. And a new name

Breaking news this week from the Salone del Mobile. Starting with the name of the curator of the fair in September: the architect Stefano Boeri. He will work with a team of young international architects and professionals to create the new concept for the event at Rho Fiera.

Another new feature is the opening of the fair not just to the sector, but also to the general public of consumers, throughout the event – not just during the weekend. Visitors will be able to see the creations included by brands in the catalogues of the last 18 months, and to make direct purchases at Rho Fiera “at exclusive prices – the report states – with part of the proceeds set aside for a good cause.”

The exceptional character of the project and the event in general will call for a new name of the fair, soon to be communicated.

The synergy between spaces and thematic itineraries in the fair will be reinforced, thanks to the new digital platform of Salone del Mobile.Milano, slated for launch in June.

“The event on which we are working will be a must, to all effects, open to sector professionals and the general public. Besides the finest recent innovations of the companies, the fair will host high-quality design products for sale at special prices, to respond to the desire expressed by thousands of families and companies to rethink the spaces of the home and work. The event in 2021 confirms the central character of Milan as the world capital of creative innovation and social initiative,” says Stefano Boeri.
