Caimi bookcases. Allies for modern times

Flexible and versatile, function in their lines, solid but visually light: the Caimi bookcases adapt to all needs, all settings, all styles. In the ongoing evolution between professional life and the home

They display, they store, they contain, they make borders and redesign spaces, also forming a backdrop of intellectual credibility during video conferences. Today we often find ourselves peering at bookshelves, trying to catch a title, to glean some additional information about the personality and interests of their owners: the way the books are organized, a framed photograph, a plant that discreetly fills a gap between a compact sequence of file folders and a numbered row of comic books.

Now more than ever, bookcases are the protagonists of the ‘new’ domestic settings for work and study. And the bookcases by Caimi are the best allies to cope with this functional contamination. Available in a double version, self-supporting or attached to the wall.

The essential graphic image, the extreme versatility of composition, make them rational and multifunctional décor complements, ready to adapt and to respond in a flexible way to the needs of any workstation. They can also be combined with the iconic Kaleidos seating (design by Michele De Lucchi and Sezgin Aksu), offered in a range of different colors and finishes, and the very light Pegaso table designed by Angelotti & Cardile, adapting to the timing of life and work.

Socrate: incredible aesthetic-functional versatility

One feather in the cap of Caimi Lab is Socrate, the modular shelving system in metal that can be deployed in multiple sizes, heights and depths, easily adapting to domestic spaces, from the living area to the kitchen, as well as offices and contract applications.

The minimal and extremely technical parts permit the design of infinite compositions, not just as bookcases but also as storage units, playing with colors, finishes and materials. Furthermore, the flexible structure can match shifting angles of walls, ensuring a great sense of continuity.

The microperforated shelves provide good ventilation for paper materials such as books or magazines. The lateral edges of the metal shelves are bent for direct interlocking on the horizontal rods of the uprights, without the need for other support systems: these features guarantee easy assembly and movement of the shelves, along with safety and stability.

Big: almost interior architecture

The bookcase designed by Marc Sadler, winner of the XXI Compasso d’Oro, is an exceptionally versatile product, thanks to its multiple uses and compositional options. Big takes on character thanks to the sturdy extruded aluminium posts with a T-shaped section, and the thickness of the front border of the steel shelves. In the version with plaster white finish, the shelves are visually comparable to masonry features.

The forceful, clear forms make Big a multifunctional and timeless object, able to bring quality to modern, high-tech, classic or historical settings. Available in different heights and with flat, sloping or pocket shelves, the system can be outfitted with a wide range of accessories, from drawer units to bookends.
