For Dedar, which takes its cue from the natural world in “This Must Be the Place,” material becomes exuberant. As part of the Contemporary Archives family, it is a ‘dreamy’ jacquard weave based on a drawing by Icinori that conveys suggestions of Japan, revealing a lush abundance of motifs taken from flora and fauna. An ode to the enchantment of nature.
Loro Piana Interiors, Newari Curtains
Loro Piana Interiors, on the other hand, plays with double-face fabrics, contrasting colors and different patterns on the two sides, to create infinite combinations. A double construction obtained with complex techniques of workmanship, applied to traditionally full-bodied materials like cashmere and wool, but also to more impalpable fabrics like linen and silk. Newari and Dharma, for example, are double wool fabrics with two-tone jacquard weaves for drapes and light upholstery.
Longhi, tavolo Lotus
The possibility of new crafts also arises, as in the case of Longhi, which respects the expertise of the tradition while delving into new technical aspects for in-house production of fabrics in the new décor collections. The results include the exclusive “Marlène” satin embroidery: a rose garden with butterfly designed by Giuseppe Iasparra enriches the petal-shaped legs of Lotus table and the cushions of Riverside sofa.
Métaphores, Aplomb (Brique pouf by Ciarmoli Queda per Uno Contract)
Painstaking research on finishes is joined by forceful commitment to environmental sustainability for Métaphores (Hermès Group). The company weaves fabrics in its workshops in Lyon, concentrating on the quality and traceability of the materials, with a particular focus on natural fibers that last in time. In the Éléments Terre collection designed by creative and image director Emilie Paralitici, Aplomb displays a motif of rectangular forms in perfect balance between the arrangement of the various geometric elements and the homogenous chromatic approach.
Rubelli, Vibrations
Rubelli also takes the pathway of the avant-garde and sustainability, with Vibrations, a bio-based fabric made with ecological viscose and an innovative bio-sourced fiber produced by starting with extracts from castor beans.
