Win, Panda and Jeko are the latest collections designed by Paola Navone, all marked by an artisanal taste that embraces unexpected juxtapositions, while achieving clearly distinctive formal results.
The Win collection, for example, combines an aluminium structure coated in white or gray with armrests in natural teak, suggesting various arrangements of sofas, armchairs and settees with components that permit different configurations, and the possibility of inserting table tops between the cushions.
With its enveloping, welcoming forms, the Panda collection contains a series of furnishings – armchairs, ottomans, sofas and settees – with an aluminium structure and a handwoven finish in Panda Resin polyethylene ribbon, 100% recyclable, strong and suitable for outdoor contexts. The innovative weave comes in white or mélange gray.
Jeko: conquering a new nature
Jeko brings tones of Indonesia and the crafts culture of the island of Java into poetic corners for any contemporary outdoor space. The collection of sofas, armchairs, tables, small tables and canopy divans is based on a special approach to sustainability and recycling. It also reflects deep respect for ancient and faraway traditional crafts, which Gervasoni deploys in an approach that is not just symbolic: the wooden structures of the collection are in fact produced in Java by Indonesian artisans.
They are made in ECOTeak, a material that stands up to water and dampness, derived from reuse of beams and boards of teak salvaged from demolition – authorized by local authorities – of traditional wooden houses. The material is cut to size, stripped of nails and iron hardware, repaired with recycled wood, assembled and polished to bring out the original grain. It is then buffed with hemp cloths and shavings, making the surface become a story of virtuous, unique “encounters” that generate the unique character of every element, in the destiny of a new life. The structures are completed by upholstered portions: soft, enveloping cushions covered in polyester with special heat-welded stitching.
