“This should be quite an adventure!” This is how Piero Lissoni comments on his appointment – just officially announced – as art director of B&B Italia. His new position begins on 1 January 2021, with the goal of making the global image of the brand evolve through direct supervision of its stylistic codes and visual identity.

“We are certain that Piero fully embodies the values that since 1966 have been a part of the B&B Italia brand: design, culture, research and technological innovation, and contemporary lifestyle,” says Gilberto Negrini, CEO of B&B Italia.

The collaboration between these two players of Italian and international design is nothing new: it began back in 2017 with a crescendo of projects, year after year, which now contains the new Liagò storage system and the B&B Italia Outdoor 2021 collection, Borea. This relationship of collaboration has now been amplified

“I am very pleased to start this new journey with a company that has made the history of Italian and international design, capable of narrating the contemporary world,” the architect continues. “B&B Italia is an integral part as well as one of the pillars of that Italian model that is envied round the world, made of businessmen with vision, bringing together crafts and industry, tradition and innovation, connections and collaborations. I hope this path we have taken together will lead to reinforcement of this legacy, while offering new opportunities to look into the future – Lissoni concludes. – Although I believe they have chosen me because I’m fun to be around, and good-looking too!” Which – we might add – is undeniable.
