In a digital period like this one, a physical fair makes news. From 26 to 29 November, Design Shanghai is back, for the first time at Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center. The many new developments for this 7th edition include the installation created by Audi with the title Window into the Future. “We are proud to collaborate with Audi in order to present Design Shanghai this year,” says the director Zhuo Tan. “Though the show has been postponed for several months due to the epidemic, the fair will be bigger than ever, bearing witness to confidence in the Chinese market and the design industry. We are enthused about welcoming our exhibitors and partners.”

The new location offers an exhibition space 40% larger than that of last year, bringing over 400 brands from more than 30 countries. Two new sections: Accessories&Objects and Talents, will join the existing categories, namely Contemporary, Classic&Luxury, Kitchen&Bathroom, Workspaces, New Materials and Applications.
Many Italian companies will be on hand, with 42 exhibitors including Visionnaire, at its debut in this fair, Vibieffe, Zanotta, Flos, Slamp, Versace, Olivari, Abet Laminati, Estel, Martinelli Luce, Laminam, Marmo, just to name some of them.

Another novelty this year is the Norwegian Presence section curated by Design and Architecture of Norway (DoGA), a narrative on sustainability seen through the eyes of Nordic brands. China and its local brands will be the protagonists of the Contemporary section: Mario Tsai Studio presents an installation of lights and music titled Colosseum, while Ugan Concept introduces the Saddle 2020 collection, including a chair, a table, a lamp, a shelf, and flooring products. Ufou will bring its adjustable desks and other products for the home office, and the lighting brand Leedarson will combine the oriental humanistic approach with contemporary design to offer poetic, elegant products.
