The interior designer Ernesto Fusco has created this home on the Amalfi Coast with a contemporary look, absorbing the colors and romantic spirit of an enchanting location.
The radical revision of the original structure offers new layout possibilities, recouping neglected perspectives and creating a large terrace facing the sea, completely clad in teak like the deck of a ship.
The architect has organized a single, white, minimal space for the living area open to the kitchen, a master bedroom and guestroom, a small laundry space, two bathrooms and a direct staircase to the terrace.
The most explicit reference to the tradition, though with a contemporary interpretation, can be seen on the ceiling of the living area, a ‘ceramic sky’ made with riggiole from Vietri, combined by contrast with a variety of typical colors and motifs. The decorative scheme inevitably becomes the main attraction and aesthetic earmark of the whole project – returning on the walls of the kitchen – orienting the décor towards a unified image.
The choices also extend to the radiators by Tubes. Under the ceramic ceiling, the Milano radiators designed by Antonia Astori and Nicola de Ponti conceal their function in the sinuous, sculptural volume, becoming small works of art, while in the kitchen and bedroom the white version of Soho, by Ludovica+Roberto Palomba, wagers on a more essential design.
Finally, by the same designers, a pair of TBT wall radiators has been installed vertically in the small total white service space.
