Sinuous continuous facades that wind like serpents in space, transparent glass walls, powerful volumes but as light as clouds, at times veiled by impalpable metal screening to create a magical dissolve effect. This is the new campus of Bocconi University in Milan, designed by the Japanese studio SANAA helmed by Kazuyo Sejima and Ryue Nishizawa.

A complex of 84,000 m2 organized in four separate buildings, to contain classrooms, communal areas, student services, offices and a sports center with a swimming pool, as well as 17,000 m2 of green areas open to the public. An example of urban regeneration that brings new life to the former area of the Centrale del Latte in Milan, and promises to be self-sufficient in terms of energy, without harmful emissions. Dematerialization, a favorite concept of SANAA, also continues in the internal spaces, which are fluid, dynamic and luminous.
Frame by Alias – Università Bocconi, Milano
The furnishings include the seats of the Frame collection by Alias, designed by Alberto Meda, selected to personalize the lecture halls and conference rooms. A family organized in various types of comfortable seating with timeless lines, marked by a structure in extruded aluminium section and a seat in polyester screen, coated with gray mélange PVC. In the detail view, the Bigframe stackable chairs and the Rollingframe variant with five spokes and wheels have been chosen for the lecture halls of the Executive and Master Programs; for the conference room, the choice has gone to the Rollingframe model in a special version with a central base attached to the floor.
