B&B Italia opens in Miami

An interactive space for a ‘phygital’ experience

B&B Italia opens a new flagship store in America, in the heart of the Design District of Miami, a space of 900 square meters on a single level, a large glass box with anthracite gray interiors and a vertical greenhouse, in which to display the offerings of B&B Italia, Maxalto and the outdoor lines.
A store that grants visitors an innovative ‘phygital experience,’ developed in partnership with Design Group Italia, in an interactive, hybrid itinerary in which real and virtual blend together.

The store relies on technology: at the entrance a king-size videowall welcomes the public with engaging content, while in the central area of the showroom, known as the Theater, a giant LCD screen serves as a digital surface for product presentations, conferences and other programming. Another screen, placed on the table, allows clients to explore product characteristics and information, with the help of the sales staff. The pathway concludes with the finalizing and personalizing of the furnishings in the Tailor’s Room, an immersive space for a direct experience of samples of fabrics and materials.

“In spite of the enormous unexpected difficulties that have had to be faced in 2020, we have moved forward with our intention of opening a new store in Miami, to create a reference point in a key city for the world of design,” says Gilberto Negrini, CEO of B&B Italia. “The critical situations must not stop us, but should become the stimulus to create new projects, to promote drastic innovation and to be even more dynamic on the market. We will use our legacy to inspire and involve the local design community.”

With this new opening there are now 5 monobrand stores owned by B&B Italia in America, after those in New York (135 Madison Ave and 150 East 58th St.), Washington and Dallas.
