Porada rewards creativity

The deadline for participation in the brand’s contest has been shifted to 15 October 2021. Open to designers and students

AAA creative talents wanted. Porada invites designers and students, Italian or foreign, to take part in the Porada International Design Award, a contest that rewards creativity and innovative ideas.
The focus is on the chair, in its various versions, interpreted in keeping with the values of the brand’s identity. The solutions must be original and involve prevalent use of solid wood, a material that can be combined with metal, leather, cowhide or fabrics.
The chairs have to take functional quality, safety and ergonomics into account, with an eye on sustainability.

The deadline for participation previously announced for 2020 has been shifted to 15 October 2021, a decision made by the company following the rescheduling of the Salone del Mobile for next year. The competition, now in its 9th iteration, is organized by Porada in collaboration with POLI.design, with the support of ADI, the association for industrial design.
The projects will be selected by an international jury, on the basis of originality, level of innovation and research on the working of solid wood, experimentation on materials and surface finishes, and the definition of usage scenarios. The jury will choose three winners for each of the two categories: students and professionals.
The overall award fund of 10,000 euros will be divided as follows: for professionals, a first prize of 3000 euros, second of 2000 and third of 1000; for the students, a first prize of 2000 euros, with a second of 1200 and a third of 800.
