First postponed to November, then to 2021, from 27 September to 1 October. But Cersaie does not stand still. The International Exhibition of Ceramic Tile and Bathroom Furnishings, which attracts thousands of visitors every year from around the world, has announced a program of virtual encounters, conferences and webinars, starting in September.

The decision to postpone the fair was arduous, but necessary: “At the end of June, five months prior to the new dates in November, we decided to move the event to the end of September 2021,” says Giovanni Savorani, president of Confindustria Ceramica. “Cersaie is a fair that reported 112,000 visitors last year, including over 50,000 from 173 foreign countries. Half the foreign visitors were from countries outside the EU, hailing from places like the USA, Mexico, Brazil, India, the Middle East, very important markets that are still trying to cope with the pandemic.” So in the meantime there will be many special events, starting in September and continuing until the end of February: “We are organizing the Press Cafes, a traditional appointment of great success at Cersaie, in a virtual version with a palimpsest of encounters on Zoom, visible online at cersaie.it, involving as many as 18 publications, including IFDM with its director Paolo Bleve, who will discuss the matter of color in a conversation with the expert Judith van Vliet.”
A total of 18 webinars, one every Thursday, at 14.00: “We will cover many different themes, from sustainability to how to rethink places in the light of Covid, and how ceramic, which is an extremely hygienic and healthful material, can become a major ally for the reinvention of spaces. There will also be conferences on installation, and other initiatives we will be revealing over the months to come.”
