Fantoni wins the IDA Design Awards

The Atelier system designed in collaboration with Gensler wins one of the most important American and international prizes for its smart, sustainable design. Now more functional than ever

Atelier is a winner at the IDA Design Awards, the prestigious event held in Los Angeles to reward smart, sustainable multidisciplinary design. Making its debut in this context, Fantoni caught the eye of the international designers, creative talents and entrepreneurs – constituting the jury and founders of the initiative – with the office furnishing system created in collaboration with the firm Gensler, a product first shown at the Salone del Mobile.Milano last year.

Atelier took the ‘Silver’ prize for the Product category – one of the five sections, along with ArchitecturalInteriorFashion and Graphic – in the 2019 edition, whose official announcement and prize ceremony were postponed due to the health crisis.

“Atelier responds perfectly to the criteria of selection of the prize, as well as those of the American market, where the line has already met with remarkable success – says Rosita Venturini, Marketing Manager of Fantoni. – Hence the choice to take part for the first time at IDA, with this collection as our candidate.”

Innovation, aesthetics, functional quality, ergonomics, durability. But also emotional impact, utility, ecocompatibility, real production feasibility. These were the parameters applied by the jury to choose Atelier. The highly flexible system is a response to the constantly changing workplace context, adapting to multiple operative needs and the evolution of technologies. All through four main elements – a configurable workstation, a collaboration table with a height of 105 cm, also for different compositions, a family of dynamic storage elements including a pinboard and a shelving-storage system. New functional parts have also be added for 2020.
“Thanks to these characteristics, Atelier is a very timely solution, also in relation to the need for distancing and redesign of spaces imposed by the health emergency – Rosita Vetturini continues. – Versatile structures, on wheels, table components arranged with simple attachments. These are all features required in this moment to guarantee safety in the workplace, along with operative efficiency.”

The IDA is just the latest in the list of many prizes won by Atelier, after the Innovation Award 2019 at the Workspace Expo in Paris, and the Architectural Record Products Award 2019.
