The first Vitolupo collection

Visitors discovered the first creations of the brand founded in 2018 through the exhibition “The Design of Luxury” at Sotheby’s Milano

Almost two years ago Vitolupo, the luxury brand of the Ellevi company specializing in contemporary furnishings, was formed as a tribute to Italian know-how and craftsmanship. On 20 and 21 February the spaces of Sotheby’s Milano hosted an exhibition to present the first Vitolupo collection, accompanied by a book published by Skira and titled Dal Giorno alla Notte, edited by Andrea B. Del Guercio.

Il Sambuco, Vitolupo

Sambuco, Vitolupo

An offering that includes tables, sofas, beds, screens, bar cabinets, bookcases, chairs, consoles, sideboards, wall mirrors, small tables, vanity tables and desks. The furnishings stand out for their refined materials, selected from the company’s archives. The inspiration comes from nature, especially trees, as seen in the names of the products (Platano, Castagno, Melograno, Mirto, Carpino, Oleandri, Rododendri, Prugnolo, Agrifoglio, Alloro, Quercia, Gelso, Sambuco, Ciliegio, Ginestre and Leccio).

Letto Ciliegio

Ciliegio Bed

The items for various spaces in the home, from bedroom to dining room, living area to studio, include the three-seat sofa Castagno, the Gelso table and Ciliegio bed. The latter has a personality that makes it the protagonist of the nighttime zone: the headboard and border are padded in leather with contrasting saddle stitching, while the legs are made in cast bronze.

Divano Castagno

Castagno Sofa

The special feature of Castagno is the workmanship of the staves of the seat and back. This graphic detail suggests the workmanship of precious upholstery of vintage cars. The wooden frame, along the entire silhouette, and the particular “saponetta” craftsmanship evoke the luxurious details of car design.
Gelso, finally, displays a game of contrasts between glass and metals. The sculptural lightness is provided by a base composed of three spirals.
