CDA: an award for Pierre-Yves Rochon

On 15 January the winners were announced in the Créateurs Design Awards. The French designer received the Andrée Putman Lifetime Achievement Award

Created to encourage, publicize and inspire the generations of the future, the Créateurs Design Awards are assigned by a jury composed of over 130 sector professionals and journalists from over 20 countries, examining projects of architecture, interior design and product design.

“The Créateurs Design Awards is honored to assign the 2020 Andrée Putman Lifetime Achievement Award to Monsieur Pierre-Yves Rochon.” With these words, spoken during the prize ceremony held on 15 January in the splendid setting of the Salon d’Été of the iconic Ritz Hotel, Paris, Yuri Xavier, founder Cda, assigned the prestigious prize to the French designer, founder and Global Design director of Pierre-Yves Rochon (PYR), the firm based in Paris and Chicago. The honor goes to professionals who during the course of their lives have made an important contribution to the field of architecture, interior design and product design.

The CDA awards are selected only by the members of CDA, including personalities like Charles Zana, Eric Hughes, Estee Stanley, Jamie Bush, Nina Campbell, Ralph Pucci, Luca Nichetto, Robert Couturier, Thomas Pheasant, Martyn Lawrence Bullard, Suzanne Tucker, Timothy Corrigan and Simon Rawlings of David Collins.

The winners in the six categories are:

Best collection: Martin Massé – Orsetto (France)
Best hospitality & commercial: Snorre Stinessen Architecture – Manshausen 2.0 (Norway)
Best residential: Bernardi Peschard Arquitectura – Country House Valle de Bravo (Mexico)
Best collaboration: Studiopepe – Les Arcanistes (Italy)
Best product: Jamie Bush – PIER Bookcase (USA)
Best photography: Ema Peter – Brookridge (Canada)
