From imm cologne to Maison & Objet. These are the two important events Ligne Roset took part in during one of the most important weeks in the world of design. The French company founded in 1860 is specialized in design furniture, from seating to lighting, from tables to fabric.
One of the brand’s strong points is its collaboration with established international designers who have also contributed to this year’s collections.
Taru by Sebastian Herkner
Through the Taru settee, the Sebastian Herkner’s intention is to create a comfortable place to sit which shows off the craftsmanship and expertise of Ligne Roset. If it had to be summarised in two words, this creation is defined by its elegance and purity. A successful Sebastian Herkner creation must be capable of taking its place everywhere : from the large living room of a traditional house to the often more constrained surroundings of a contemporary apartment.
Grid by Antoine Rouzeau
Antoine Rouzeau designed the Grid lamp for Ligne Roset, distinguished by perforated metal lampshades, available in bronze and satin green. The base is rectangular with rounded corners, while the stem is in tubular metal.
Canaletto by Mauro Lipparini
The Canaletto collection by Mauro Lipparini of glazed units is a small but very singular range. The upper section is completely glazed, both front and sides, with a ridged glass with a widely-spaced linear pattern, an alternation of dips like peaks and troughs. This slim glass lets one see, or least guess at, the outlines of the objects held within, as the light plays across it. The glass of the doors is mounted flush with the smoked, brushed anodised aluminium frames, held in place by invisible glue beneath a bronze martingale. The lower shelves are in metal and are slim, lacquered and entirely rear-mounted, being attached to the back panels. The back panels are arranged between the shelves. They are either in dark walnut veneer, or lacquered.
