Desalto's strong awarded

The new collection designed by Eugeni Quitllet has been assigned the prize for the best products making their debut at imm cologne 2020

The year 2020 opens with a big honor for Desalto: Strong by Eugeni Quitllet has won the Stylepark Selected Award. The prize has gained a reputation over time as an important guide for architects, designers, journalists and design lovers. Stylepark Selected, one of the first online platforms for design and architecture, honors the best products previewed at the fair, indicated by the jury as absolute “must-see” items at imm cologne 2020.

Strong, Desalto

Strong, Desalto

The collection consists of a stool, bar table, chair and table. The Spanish designer defines it directly: “It’s the idea of using art to shape new ideas, taking the shortest road for the solution through a continuous form… Nothing more, nothing less. Strong is that thin wall which separates the void from the image of poetry…. It’s curving, bending reality to create the dream. Strong is a new alphabet for writing new stories… Nothing more, nothing less.”

But this isn’t over. The German design fair also hosts two other Desalto products: MM8 and Void. The MM8 table (design Guglielmo Poletti) explores the limits of material in relation to its structural properties, exploiting the physical qualities of aluminium.

Void, Desalto

Void, Desalto

The Void (design Guglielmo Poletti) series was born as an exploration into shape in relation to the architectural concepts of mass and void. Made up of different pieces, the collection features the extreme pureness of the volumes, whose profiles map out a solid which has been partially deconstructed and excavated
