Federlegno Arredo, pact for the new headquarters

The federation of manufacturers of wooden furnishings and Fondazione Fiera Milano have inked a pact for a new headquarters and hospitality structure, in front of the fair pavilions 3 and 4 in the Scarampo area

6000 m2 will host the new headquarters of Federlegno Arredo and the offices of Salone del Mobile.Milano, as well as a new hospitality structure: this is what the preliminary sale contract establishes. The agreement was signed by Enrico Pazzali, President of Fondazione Fiera Milano, and Emanuele Orsini, President of Federlegno Arredo Eventi, on behalf of FLARE, real estate company and 100% subsidiary of Federlegno Arredo Eventi.
The starchitect Michele De Lucchi has been commissioned to design two buildings at FieraMilanoCity.

“Fondazione Fiera promotes this investment that will enhance its presence at Portello, now one of the most prestigious areas of the city, in keeping with its corporate objectives of further boosting the potential of the zone. The agreement – Enrico Pazzali explains – reinforces the partnership with Salone del Mobile.Milano and the promotion of Italian design.”

Emanuele Orsini is also optimistic, defining the project as “a modern, ecosustainable, futuristic and highly functional home for all our members, which will express the philosophy and know-how that set us apart.”
The buildings will be located in a strategic portion of the Scarampo area (6000 m2), right in front of pavilions 3 and 4 of FieraMilanoCity, in a district considered a part of the new Milan. The hotel will provide support for trade fair activities and conventions, organized by Fiera Milano Congressi.

As the mayor of Milan Giuseppe Sala comments, Portello is capable – through its works of architecture and more – to combine past and present in a district inseparably linked to trade fair activities, making it – in the words of the Governor of the Lombardy Region Attilio Fontana, “a symbol of the economic dynamism of Milan and Lombardy.”
The presence in the new headquarters of the offices of the furniture fair “demonstrates an increasingly strong bond between this event and the city,” says Claudio Luti, President of Salone del Mobile.Milano.
