Porada Award no. 8

The deadline for submission of projects for cupboards and sideboards is 15 November. The competition is organized by Porada and POLI.design, with the support of ADI

By now it is an annual appointment for designers and design lovers, with a deadline for submission of projects for cupboards and sideboards set at 15 November. The 2019 edition of the Porada International Design Awards will be number 8, organized by Porada Arredi srl and POLI.design, with the support of ADI.

The contest rewards six participants who stand out for originality in the use of production technologies and working processes involving solid wood. The jury of experts will evaluate specific functional parameters, compliance with current standards of safety and ergonomics, and the focus on sustainable design.

Italian and foreign designers (individuals or groups), freelancers and employees, students and professionals can take part. The international character of the initiative is reflected in the numbers for this last year: 366 projects from all over the world, from Iran to Australia by way of Japan and Russia.

The prize for the professionals category went to Simone Alberto Gerbino with the project Screen, while Niccolò Devetag took first place in the students category with Ninfea. The prize ceremony took place during Milano Design Week 2019 at the Porada showroom, Via Borgospesso 18, Milan, on 11 April 2019.

In the coming edition the prize money reaches the level of 10,000 euros, and the winners have the possibility of seeing their creations become products by Porada.
