Glas Italia narrates excellence in a short film

The furniture brand specialized in working with glass – Glas Italia – creates a short film whose motto “All the invisible” sets out to shed light on the long-term tradition of the company. The brand is updating its catalogue with a collection of doors and partitions

Founded at the start of the 1970s in Macherio, Brianza, it is now a premium design brand operating all over the world. Glas Italia, the producer of furniture, doors, dividers and complements in glass and other materials, relies on extensive experience based on family heritage and advanced production processes.

The excellence of Glas Italia’s products is now the focus of a short film titled “All the invisible,” a concept that takes its cue from the firm’s passion and cutting-edge techniques in the manufacture of objects in glass.

The film is produced by Federico Pepe, founder and artistic director of Le Dictateur Studio, and directed by Jacopo Carapelli, the creator of films for renowned international brands, as well as music videos such as “Cara Italia” by Ghali. The soundtrack was created for the occasion by the New York-based cellist Julia Kent.

“This project illustrates the multiple phases behind every Glas Italia product,” says Federico Pepe. “The goal is to ‘make the invisible visible’ and to accompany viewers on an evocative journey through the steps in which creativity, age-old expertise and evolved industrial techniques make it possible to produce extremely refined glass objects, ambassadors of Italian design around the world. In an ideal reference to the film Fantasia, we have created an emotional, powerful montage of images and music.”

Over the last decade Glas Italia has expanded its field of action from furniture to interior design, investing in particular in a collection of doors and dividers of great decorative impact, a complete line conceived for a refined, demanding public.

The products of Glas Italia are distributed on five continents and in over 100 nations, and bear the signatures of internationally acclaimed designers, including Piero Lissoni, Edward Barber & Jay Osgerby, Mario Bellini, Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec, Naoto Fukasawa, Johanna Grawunder, Shiro Kuramata, Jean-Marie Massaud, Alessandro Mendini, Jasper Morrison, Nendo, Patrick Norguet, Jean Nouvel, Ettore Sottsass, Philippe Starck, Patricia Urquiola, Nanda Vigo, Tokujin Yoshioka.
