Azimut docks in Times Square

The exclusive Azimut S6 yacht, the top of the Azimut | Benetti Group line, arrives in the heart of Manhattan: a special installation to celebrate the brand’s 50th

An unusual route for a yacht. The Azimut S6 has ‘sailed’ into the streets of New York City to dock in the very central Times Square. In the vibrant atmosphere of this famous location, the exclusive sport yacht in Carbon Tech of the Azimut | Benetti Group stands out in all its majesty.

The installation – 60 feet long, making it the biggest display of this kind ever presented in Times Square – is the result of the partnership with Design Pavilion, the high point of NYCxDesign that makes its presence felt around the city as an extended program mixing design and culture, and with One Ocean Foundation, which develops specific projects to save the seas.

Sustainability, in fact, was a key subject during the Design Talks Impact Summit at Nasdaq, with a panel that included Federico Ferrante, President of Azimut | Benetti Americas; the group pays close attention to this theme, and also organizes the contest Can you see/sea the future, a competition for design students coordinated with Arts Thread, to bring the younger generations into contact with the mission of the Foundation.

The talks and the installation – part of the initiative titled Azimut Staging Places, in which Azimut yachts are placed in unexpected sites, after the initiative in Times Square – are elements in a much wider program to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the group of the Vitelli family, making the brand travel the world from February to December.

After the first stop in Dubai and the recent appearance in New York, the program moves to Cannes (in September) and Hong Kong (November), and then returns to the headquarters of the group in Avigliana (Turin).
