Ernestomeda-Eataly: the collaboration continues

The Marches-based company creates a custom kitchen for the new point of sale in Paris. By the designer Giuseppe Bavuso

Eataly brings the Marches to Paris. The supermarket based on an idea of Oscar Farinetti recently opened a new facility in Paris, in the Marais, between Rue Sainte Croix de la Bretonnerie and Rue du Temple.

The new Parisian store applies the characteristic Eataly formula: market, restaurants and information. The teaching area features a custom kitchen by Ernestomeda, with an island configuration personalized to adapt to the needs of the training facility.

A veritable Icon created by Giuseppe Bavuso, composed of a large counter with eight cooking stations, including sinks and ovens, with one station for handicapped students, permitting all ‘apprentices’ to work together with a chef, learning the secrets of fine cuisine.
Innovation and versatility are the kitchen’s strong points: the counter becomes a large dining table, thanks to a series of cutting boards that interlock to cover the range-sink areas.

This is not the first collaboration between the brand specialized in kitchens and Eataly. It all began in 2017, with the participation of Ernestomeda at FICO Eataly World (Bologna), the largest agriculture-nutrition park in the world. The partnership then continued in the Stockholm store, and will lead to the upcoming opening of Eataly Toronto: “We are very proud that our collaboration with Eataly is moving forward beyond the national borders,” says Alberto Scavolini, CEO of Ernestomeda. “After the opening of Eataly Stockholm, the point of sale in Paris is undoubtedly another step forward in the spreading of knowledge of Italian excellence in the world,” Scavolini concludes.
