A small boutique hotel with intelligent lights: it’s the MyLight Hotel, an installation by Foscarini during Clerkenwell Design Week, the three-day event in London on design from 21 to 23 May in the Clerkenwell district. The project was hosted by the OneRoom Gallery of London, a reference point in Shoreditch, transformed as a concept hotel to narrate the potential – also for the contract market – of the Foscarini MyLight smart lighting system.

Designed by the founders of OneRoom Carlo Ninchi and Vittorio Locatelli, the installation simulates the everyday life of a hotel, in a film-like interpretation marked by color and light. From the reception area on the ground floor one enters the MyLight Hotel, reaching the lounge and bar areas, respectively on the first and second floor. The third floor contains the spacious guestroom with bath, while the roof offers a panoramic terrace.

The spaces feature lively colors, dramatic lighting, design pieces and vintage finds from the collection of Italian masters, and artworks from the 16th to 20th century. An immersive, evocative setting that forms the backdrop for the true protagonists, the MyLight lamps by Foscarini, a mixture of technology and creativity.

MyLight is the system that permits personalization via app of the intensity and color of light based on tastes and uses, from intense lighting to boost concentration to more relaxing settings for the evening. The app can be activated and used from a smartphone or other device equipped with bluetooth.
MyLight covers a wide range of LED models in the Foscarini collection, including the suspension lamps Plena, Spokes, Satellight, Chouchin, Rituals, Buds, Gregg, Tartan, Gem and Aplomb Large, and the wall lamps Superficie and Bahia Mini. Furthermore, for two famous models – the Caboche suspension and the Twiggy floor lamp – it is possible adjust both the intensity and the color temperature, permitting choice of warmer or cooler light depending on the time of day: cooler light for working, cooking and studying, warmer tones for watching television on a comfortable sofa after dinner.
