Immersive experience

The 2019 edition of WantedDesign Manhattan revolves around the theme of environmental attention and stages the universe of the project through the vision of successful brands

In the fascinating setting of the Terminal Stores in West Chelsea, WantedDesign Manhattan presents a universe of creativity represented by international talents and highly acclaimed brands like Cappellini, Kartell and Moooi, with its eclectic vision narrated by the creations of Marcel Wanders and Atelier van Lieshout; the modern decor of the Israel-based Umasqu; the cork and sustainable materials of the collections of Muratto; the outdoor furnishings by the Spanish company Calma; and the new idea of stationery presented by Kikkerland Design in a special collaboration with Central Saint Martins University of the Arts in London.

Environmental awareness is the theme developed by the students in the Master in Product Design of SVA, reacting to climate change in the interactive exhibition “Adaptive Dwellers: Tools for the Apocalypse” that examines new products and innovative methods in a world devastated by extreme weather.

The Look Book program launched last year by WantedDesign and Surface presents a number of North American high-end designers and entrepreneurs, while the platform for emerging talents, Launch Pad, presented by DesignMilk, features an exceptional jury – Jaime Derringer, Marva Griffin Wilshire, Giulio Cappellini, Enri Tielmann, Shant Madjarian – that will choose the winners for 2019. Presented with Bernhardt Design, the American Design Honors for emerging designers selected Arielle Assouline-Lichten for her dynamic approach to design, creative use of materials and focus on sustainability, always with an original and unprecedented approach.
