The proven ability of Glas Italia to make true works of art in glass has attracted the interest of many outstanding designers. The year 2019 is no exception, and the booth at the Salone del Mobile was the setting for the presentation of a heterogeneous range of new offerings, including tables, mirrors and wall systems.
Aladin Wall by Piero Lissoni
All in pursuit of aesthetic perfection, without overlooking functional quality.
The new creations present an evocative journey through the world of Glas, focusing on the debut of Aladin Wall, an innovative system of dividers, and on the expansion of the program of doors, both by the renowned designer Piero Lissoni.
Aladin responds to the needs of modern lifestyles thanks to great versatility; the partitions are available in two versions with single or double glazing.
Piero Lissoni also worked on the extension of the Sherazade series of doors: a contemporary take on antique “cathedral glass” for an extremely striking effect of lights and colors.
L.A. Sunset by Patricia Urquiola
For the Bisel and L.A. Sunset tables, Patricia Urquiola relies on essential lines and elegant, refined colors that cannot help but be noticed. The round form of the latter joins a structure in metal tubing, coated in midnight blue or in the new copper finish. The Bisel collection is composed of high and low tables and consoles made in layered multicolored glass, obtained by stratification of five sheets of extra-light glass with films of different colors.
Mari Cristal by Philippe Starck
Philippe Starck himself explains his Mari Cristal project: “The intelligent part of human production is moving towards dematerialization. Everything will disappear. Mari Cristal is not just a table, it is a step towards dematerialization. We still do not know how to make a table vanish, so we have to make it seem invisible.”
Lady Hio by
The Jabot table conveys a sensation of softness and lightness. Mario Bellini took his cue from whipped cream to create the legs with shaped borders. The top is made by gluing panes of transparent glass at 45°.

Lady Hio, created in 2014 by Philippe Starck with Sergio Schito for Glas Italia was presented at the fair in Milan in a version with the cylindrical, tapered legs of the table in Nero Marquina or Arabesque White marble with gray veins.
