The Quality of Living

MADE Expo is in full swing until Saturday 16 March, shining a spotlight on the topics of comfort, safety, sustainability, and innovation aimed at improving home living

The ninth edition of MADE Expo has gotten underway and will end on Saturday 16 March with a day open to private citizens.
The trade show dedicated to the world of building and architecture is a place for constructive meetings between designers, clients, producers, and construction companies. “We are proud to have been able to bring together so many quality enterprises, representing various materials, professionals, and the academic world,” states Massimo Buccilli, President of MADE Expo.

The cover story of this year’s exposition is Quality of Living, developing aspects that pertain to urban and infrastructural regeneration and the fundamental ingredients of modern living: comfort, safety, sustainability, and innovation. “The theme of MADE Expo’s 2019 edition,” explains Mayor of Milan Giuseppe Sala, “demonstrates how much this exposition has grown over the years. Emphasising ‘quality of living’ means that construction and architecture must meet the requirements of the present and take on the challenges posed by the modern age.”

The trade show is subdivided into four exhibitions, each one representing a category: MADE Constructions and Materials, MADE Building Envelope and Windows, MADE Interiors and Finishes, and MADE Software, Technologies, and Services, occupying eight pavilions. MADE Expo is also enhanced by a program of over 100 events.

The economy and politics were two subjects of interest that could not be neglected, especially in a sector where unlocking resources for construction projects has the potential to relaunch the country. Putting the allocated €25 billion into circulation would generate an increase of 1% in the GDP, according to an estimate by MADE Expo.
To this end, President of FederlegnoArredo Emanuele Orsini, one of the expositions promoters, had this to say: “In an economic context which, in recent months, has seen a new and alarming deceleration in the construction industry, a firm response on the part of institutions is increasingly urgent in order to reactivate this strategic sector, the recovery of which would lead to an immediate increase in GDP and would make a fundamental contribution to the development of the country. MADE Expo represents a vote of confidence in this regard.”
