Laufen and Wanders, still together

The Swiss company will be participating in ISH trade show in Frankfurt, and has expanded its ‘The New Classic’ collection, designed by Marcel Wanders and presented at the last Salone del Mobile.Milano

The ISH trade show has become a regular appointment for Laufen. The brand, specialised in the production of ceramics for the bathroom, continues in its professional journey with a focus on three key words: technology, design, and innovation. The company’s stand at ISH (a trade show dedicated to the world of bathrooms, building technology, renewable energy, energy, and air conditioning) will shine the spotlight on its new 2019 products.

In 2013 Laufen’s history changed course. Six years ago SaphirKeramik was introduced and launched, a high-tech and high-performance ceramic material. Since then various well-known designers have contemplated, designed, and played with the material’s formula.
The last, in chronological order, to accept the challenge and take advantage of this opportunity was Marcel Wanders, designing ‘The New Classic’ collection introduced last year on occasion of the Salone del Mobile.Milano.

Now, at ISH, Laufen is presenting a preview of its entire line of bathroom furniture, which both develops and completes its concept, aimed at expanding the series by the Dutch designer. The new products join the company’s other solutions for sinks, toilets, bidets, and bathtubs, already paired with faucets and accessories.

Wanders gives his creations sinuous and feminine lines with round contours that blend classic and modern styles. The collection has already earned recognition, winning the 2019 iF Design Award.
“For the first time,” says Marcel Wanders, “SaphirKeramik has been modelled into a classic and iconic shape. This lightweight yet durable material has given us the unique opportunity to celebrate the beauty of delicate porcelain with our elegant and soft lines.”
