Just a few weeks and Hannover will become the world capital of wood. From the 27 to 31 May 2019 the experts of the sector will turn their gaze towards Ligna, the trade fair of tools, machines and installations for the processing and treatment of wood.

Important numbers are expected: 1,500 companies will occupy the 130 thousand square metres of the exhibition centre and showcase the future of the processing and treatment industry of this important material. “Exhibitors from more than 50 countries will present technological solutions, applications and ideas for the entire cluster of the forestry and wood sector. The presence of leading manufacturers makes Hannover the global hotspot for the sector. The international profile of the trade fair has been growing without interruption,” explains Christian Pfeiffer, Global Director of LIGNA & Woodworking Events, at the press conference held in Milan on 14 February 2019.

Ligna 2019 puts the accent on three topics: “Integrated Woodworking – Customized Solutions”, “Smart Surface Technology”, “Access to Resources and Technology”.
The latter, in particular, takes place within the framework of the Wood Industry Summit, the international platform dedicated to information exchange and technology that will favour access to new developing markets for the wood processing industry. The Wood Industry Summit, now in its third year, is organised by Deutsche Messe in collaboration with the Forestry Control Commission (KWF) in Groß-Umstadt.
WoodLifeCycle
Deutsche Messe and wood represent the common thread between Germany and Italy, between Hannover and Milan. The organising body of the trade fair also includes Domotex, an event dedicated to carpets and flooring, which last January welcomed Wood.Lifecycle, the special exhibition on the wood life cycle that will be presented once again during Milan Design Week.
The project is designed by Te.Am Group and it seeks to demonstrate the importance and versatility of this raw material.
