When artistic mediums meet: that of Tacchini’s designer pieces and that of the theatre, weaving together to celebrate over fifty years of company history with short sketches and brief theatrical representations. “Objects, Stories” is a project curated by Davide Fabio Colaci and directed by Marina Spreafico.
Chairs, sofas, vases, mirrors, lamps, and much more will furnish the stage of the Arsenal theatre, creating a mysterious and surreal atmosphere where stories will come to life, combining actual information with pure fantasy and describing the vision that objects have of our human existence.
The objective of the initiative is to describe, as best as possible, the spirit of décor; an incredibly difficult task even for designers themselves.
“Tacchini is a philosophy. Behind every object there’s a story and behind every story there’s a person. This project,” explains Giusi Tacchini, CEO of the company, “portrays the essence of what we do everyday. We fall in love with our products, with their stories and the stories of those who build them, with those who continue to make things by hand; so that this story can continue, can be transmitted from the designer to the manufacturer and from the manufacturer to the future owner of the product. And then continue on from there.”
An experience that focuses on sharing and on knowledge, that will put Tacchini’s pieces on the same level with the actors, the stories, and the audience. Davide Fabio Colaci tells us: “With this experiment we are trying to portray the symbiotic relationship between objects, furniture, and the people who have conceived, manufactured, and finally lived with it, using the language of theatre to narrate the untold biography of an object. An aspect that the world of design often struggles to reveal.”
The program is scheduled for three evenings: an invite-only premier on 23 January and two free evenings open to the public on 24 and 25 January (for reservations write to [email protected]).
