Food and design, two exquisitely winning words which Michelin-starred chef Alain Ducasse has made his own in the new Voyages a Macao restaurant, located within one of the most recent structures designed by Zaha Hadid, the Morpheus Hotel.

Voyages occupies a large area on the third floor of this complex and futuristic building characterised by a reticular web that wraps around its entire volume, shaping, along with the pattern created by its second glass skin, the interiors and presenting unusual views of the city.

Associated with Ducasse is the name Patrick Jouin, who was in charge of the interior design through Jouin Manku and chose to feature a combination of furnishings personally created for Porada. The Trunk table recalls the silhouette of a tree, with a base which resembles a trunk from which branches extend to support the shiny tabletop; while the Ella chair was inspired by the American and Japanese tradition of using solid wood and stands out for the simplicity of its lines, the sinuous shape of its armrests, and the comfort of its seat.

The French designer created an elegant, but highly dynamic space, enlivened by the colour orange applied to the upholstered wooden strips of the ceiling, some of the walls, and, in a very bright shade, on the resin walkways that cut through the expanse of grey carpet.
There is no shortage of artistic touches, those that intertwine with the culinary genius of a great chef who brings creativity to the kitchen.

From the large canvas by Parisian artist Romain Bernini, which depicts a tentacled octopus suspended in water; to the installation by Léa Maupetit (also French) who created a mobile wall, bringing together drawings of one hundred of the most iconic Asian ingredients.
