Desalto has decided to satisfy everyone’s tastes. Specialising in objects of interior design, its 2018 catalogue features a rich and striking selection of tables, each quite different from the next, and includes models like Lake, winner of the third edition of the Archiproducts Design Awards 2018 for the “furniture” category.
Designed by Gordon Guillaumier, Lake has an oval shape that makes it light and dynamic, with legs made from steel tubes measuring 30mm in diameter. It is available in ceramic or in Canaletto walnut grain with an under-mount in matching lacquered MDF.
Desalto, Beam
Beam, on the other hand, is available in a fixed or extendable version, with a steel or aluminium structure. Designed by Mario Ferrarini, the distinguishing feature of the table is its support frame, often hidden. The various parts that make up Beam are overall seen through plays of light and through the relationship between full and empty space.
Desalto, Clay
Not just Lake. Gordon Guillaumier also designed Iblea for Desalto, a project that combines the dynamic nature of its vortex-inspired base with the static one of its monolithic marble top. The body is made from laser-cut steel and the top from transparent tempered crystal, ceramic, or marble.

Geometry in service to design: the Clay table, by designer Marc Krusin, allows two cones of different shapes and sizes to meet at their opposing vertices, challenging gravity in a seemingly precarious balance.
Desalto, Skin
Lastly, Skin by Marco Acerbis is available in a fixed or extendable version: a linear and extremely thin surface conceals sophisticated mechanisms that make it possible to elongate the table without sacrificing the harmony of its proportions.
