A refined restyling

Caffè Baglioni and the Montenapoleone Terrace Suite in Milan’s Baglioni Hotel Carlton, new décor designed by the Jumbo Group

Since 1992 the Baglioni Hotel Carlton, owned by the Polito family, has been a vaunted luxury destination in Milan, thanks not only to its location on Via della Spiga, but also to the history and sophistication embodied within its guest spaces.

After a full restyling in 2013, overseen by the Milanese design studio Spagnulo & Partners, and the opening of the Spiga8 Spa in 2015, since October 2018 the focus of renovations has been the majestic Montenapoleone Terrace Suite and the historic Caffè Baglioni. These spaces have been completely redesigned thanks to a project by Livio Ballabio, creative director of Jumbo Group, and to two of the group’s furniture and accessories collections.

The nature of the city, Gianfranco Ferrè Home, and the atmosphere of the 1950s are the stars of Caffè Baglioni: from the lighting to the furniture, and from the finishes to the fabrics and custom designed special editions. Like the comfortable armchairs with simple lines, upholstered in dark leather or floral velvet and with polished metal bases; or the small tables with shiny oval tops resting on bases with a ‘macro grosgrain’ look.
The colour palette is simple and ‘masculine’ as well: ‘air force’ blue or a lighter blue tinged with grey and black with a foray into the floral world, also when it comes to the wall coverings

Gianfranco Ferrè Home also furnishes the junior suite attached to the Montenapoleone Terrace Suite, the most exclusive apartment in the hotel, for which an eclectic mix from the Jumbo Collection was carefully selected, bringing together oriental and French-inspired touches with classic lines, shapes, and decorations. Here valuable materials, like crystals, onyx nuvolato, and marbles, used with sophisticated artisan skill, are ‘highlighted’ by a delicate colour palette of beige, olive green, and gold.
