The event offered the possibility for the media, design influencers, buyers and leaders of industry to discuss the theme “Inspiration, Nature, Craft and Technology”. The talks were a remarkable success and excited great interest. IFDM could not miss this event. The collaboration with ColorWorks®, a business unit of Clariant, was the main theme of “Aesthetics”, which offered a preview of the new colour trends. The design talk was held by the founder and publisher Paolo Bleve, the editor-in-chief of Regional Book China Johannes Neubacher and Norzihan Aziz, Head of ColorWorks Design Centre of Singapore.

Beijing Design Week also inaugurated the WF Central shopping centre, following up on the collaboration with Maison&Objet. Open from 16 September to 18 November, the pavilion will be the showcase for the projects of the 5 Maison&Objet Designers of the Year: Philippe Nigro, Eugeni Quitllet, Tom Dixon, Nendo and André Fu. Italian companies like Seletti and Magis also took part in the gathering.
