From the 19th to the 22nd of September, West Kensington Design District will be one of the most important and interesting places of London Design Festival 2018. Located in one of the most luxurious areas of London, it is offering a series of events and partners that will be the focus of the attention of the many visitors expected. The already packed line-up made up of 100% Design, Olympia London, Design Museum and V&A Blythe House is being enriched this year by the new Japan House.

Olympia London, the site of 100% Design, has recently seen major restructuring work commissioned by the owners Yoo Capital and Deutsche Finance International.
100% Design, now in its 24th edition, welcomes brands and designers of world renown, such as Thomas Heatherwick and Marcel Wanders. Moreover, the space offers the possibility for young talent to present their ideas in exhibitions in creative London.
At the Design Museum, the event not to be missed will be Beazley Designs of the Year, enjoying its eleventh edition. There are six categories in competition: architecture, digital fashion, product, graphics and transport. The curator of Large Ammena M. McConnell will stage a series of events linked to the topic of belonging. The activities that will be conducted at V&A Blythe House will also be interesting. Visitors will be able to take part in a guided visit through V&A Art & Design, Theatre & Performance and backstage at V&A’s Clothworkers Centre.
The most interesting new feature of the 2018 edition is Japan House, where it will be possible to get to know Japanese culture thanks to events and installations reflecting Japanese art, design, gastronomy, innovation and technology. The theme is the biology of metal, which will explore the traditional metal work of Tsubame Sanjō. Space Gap, a pavilion located opposite Olympia, aims to explore London’s social problems, linked to the difference in space and design in the various areas of the UK’s capital.
