Istituto Marangoni students at their debut in the design world

The jury, consisting of lecturers, journalists and prestigious design companies, selected the top nine innovative projects

Nine students from the renowned Istituto Marangoni presented their projects and were selected by a jury consisting of teachers, journalists and prestigious design companies. At The Mall, the young designers unveiled the works carried out during the year through video projections. The projects belong to the three different areas of the School of Design: Product, Interior and Visual Design.

For the Interior area Natali Vorotnykova area, Sharon Foglietta and Belen Arocena carefully analysed the identity and needs of the Antonio Marras, Versace and Miu Miu brands to set up three different projects, each with its own personality and mood. The designers have imagined the transformation of one of Milan’s most fascinating spaces, the Teatro Manzoni, into a center of operations and multifunctional space, each for a different luxury trademark.  To give shape to their ideas, the young female students studied the potential and took advantage of the essential features of the assigned space.

For the Product area, nature and versatility of function and use are the main themes in the students’ works. Pump Table is the idea of Margherita Sala, a low table that aims to represent a positive dialogue between nature and technology. The interactive furniture system by Arthur Roth Le Gentil is more modern and can be customised thanks to a device. Rafaela Vieira has presented Saudade, a pop-up furnishing system.
