Announced the third edition of the Salone del Mobile.Milano Shanghai

The Italian Embassy in Beijing hosted the press conference for the presentation of the next edition of the event, taking place from 22 to 24 November with more than 100 Made in Italy brands

Just a few more months and the Salone del Mobile.Milano Shanghai will be back in the spotlight with its third edition. From 22 to 24 November the SEC – Shanghai Exhibition Center, will host over 100 top Italian brands increasing the exhibition area in comparison to the previous year. It is a three-day event dedicated to design and furniture that introduces the Chinese visitor to the furnishing proposals that debuted in Milan, divided in the categories: Design, products that express functionality, innovation and a great aesthetic sense, and xLux, products that balance classic elegance with contemporary design.

The aim of the Salone del Mobile.Milano Shangai hasn’t changed: to create a solid bond between the two cultures, Italian and Chinese, highlighting the quality, originality and creativity of Italian furniture to further increase the attractiveness of Made in Italy.
This is what says the President of the Salone del Mobile, Claudio Luti, who also explains the reason for the choice of the Shanghai venue: “It is a fundamental strand of the internationalization process that the Salone del Mobile has undertaken over the last few years geared to bringing prime Italian manufacturing to the Chinese market”.

For Italy, China represents an important opportunity for growth and international success: “China has become a increasingly central market in the export strategies of Italian furnishing companies and this is borne out by the export results for 2017, which closed up 36.5%” says FederlegnoArredo and Federlegno Arredo Eventi president Emanuele Orsini, who also reveals: “It is in our interest to continue to invest in China, where we enjoy absolute primacy as the leading furnishing suppliers.”

The presentation of the third edition of the Salone del Mobile.Milano Shanghai took place once again in Beijing, where the Ettore Sequi, Italy’s Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China revealed the expectations for the Chinese three-day event: “Given the results of the first editions and the growth rate of our products in China, I am sure the event will again be a great success.”

In the SaloneSatellite Shanghai will be given space to young generation. Here designers under 35 and students from Chinese universities will present their projects. The best three will be awarded and invited to participate in the 2019 edition of SaloneSatellite in Milan.
