Essentially international

Nube speaks to the world of design. Thanks to a stylistic evolution, enacted in collaboration with Studio Viganò, its new, strong identity has crystallised around an essential design, both in terms of shapes and comfort

Nube has created a world of comfort from its selection of upholstered furnishings. Soft and elegant sofas that meet the international preferences, in virtue of the transversal style of its latest collections, focused on a “return to essentiality”. A tasteful contemporaneity which exudes consolidated project design, thanks to collaboration with Studio Viganò which has been developing living and bedroom solutions for the brand since last year. Simona Nicoli, the company’s owner, explains: “The research undertaken in conjunction with Studio Viganò is oriented towards the world of upholstered furnishings, which remains our core business. This collaboration aims to turn our collection around, to rejuvenate and renew it. If we look at the public’s and our customers’ response, we appear to be moving in the right direction”. Nube presented its latest proposals for 2018 in the colourful and vibrant setting of the Brera neighbourhood on occasion of Milan Design Week.

Starting with Pocket, a range which includes a sofa, armchair, dormeuse, ends and ottomans which exude a convivial and youthful character. A minimalist wooden structure supports extremely soft down cushioning which seamlessly blends back and arm rest, conferring an even more enveloping touch.

The Winslet range is characterised by a much more subtle and rigorous line, laden with geometries which produce a more linear and formally rigorous aesthetic, yet elegant result. Two opposite and complementary furnishing solutions, both characterised by a stylistically essential design. In contrast,

the armchair Tiara stands out from the crowd. Eclectic and futuristic, it appears to draw inspiration from the world of art, in virtue of its evocative effects. The high back consists of different pieces through which light moves freely, creating suggestive scenographic effects. The unique design is further highlighted by different combinations of leathers and Kvadrat fabrics.

This “return to essentiality”, embraced by the company over the last few years, has undoubtedly bolstered internationalisation and its presence on major markets, especially America and the Far East. Opposite ends of the globe conquered by the same project proposals, destined for different interiors: hospitality – supplies for hotels- in America, via numerous architecture firms based in New York and other major cities, and in the East with large scale residential projects. Things have also been moving on the Italian market, where Nube first established itself as a supplier for Fincantieri three years ago, providing armchairs and upholstered pieces for its ‘naval hotels’.
