At Eurocucina 2018 the company presented various compact solutions and a triple project that won the Salone del Mobile.Milano Award, a prize dedicated to the best of the furniture and design “world” presenta t the event, a prize shared with Magis and CC-Tapis. This way the Japanese brand Sanwa entered the Italian scene in a resolute way; Italians are also the three excellent names that gave life to the concept The Impact of Compact, a series of three compact kitchens created by three renowned names respectively: Alessandro Mendini, who created AM 01; Bestetti Associati, who designed BA 01; Elisa Ossino, with EO 01.

Expression and synthesis between cutting-edge Japanese technology, contemporary and minimalist design, typical of the tradition of the Land of the Rising Sun, and a high level of design research, The Impact of Compact offers three kitchen furnishing solutions capable of satisfying contemporary needs linked to increasingly limited living spaces, three hyper-functional kitchens, but reduced in volume and essential in the shape.

In line with these three solutions, Sanwa presented other projects: the compact versions of the Pattina and Grad 45 kitchens and two happy intuitions, namely AC 01 – the Adjustable Compact Kitchen, the compact kitchen that transforms into a desk; and finally, the SC 01, characterized by the use of steel.

Among these, AC 01 won the internal competition promoted by Sanwa Company – and selected by Alessandro Mendini, President of the Jury – to enter production. Also noteworthy is the Sanwa exhibition space at Eurocucina, which was designed in collaboration with Bestetti Associati and reflects the evolution of the vision the company over the years. The lighting system of the stand was designed by Davide Groppi, while the styling was carried out by Elisa Ossino with the Japanese companies Nakagawa Masashichi Shoten, Dyk/Takagi and Hotta Carpet.

Sanwa has already been awarded with the Good Design Award 2017, with five projects: the Estico and Ceragino kitchens, and the Shigaraki En, Shigaraki Irodori and Cara washbasins, a renowned award assigned by the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design and promoted by the European Centre for Architecture, Art Design and Urban Studies. In 2017 the Pattina kitchen received the Archiproducts Design Award.
