Piaval‘s participation is centred around the theme of hospitality (a few months away from its 100th birthday), on all three days at Clerkenwell, the increasingly popular London district, as it rouses the interest of designers and consolidates its own brand.
The event also marks the début of its recently appointed art directors, Vicente Garcia and Cinzia Cumini, who present their creation Pipe at spaces in the Design Field. The chair marks the culmination of technological and shape research. The product’s heart is a ring which joins the rear legs to the supporting back: an apparently small detail which confers a touch of elegance and personality upon the chair, resonating with British taste which has always been enthusiastic about the matching of wood with metal.

Laura Silvestrin, creator of the armchair Mamy for Piaval, has also designed the chairs Trench and Macaron.
Trench is simple yet technical. A wooden circle surrounds an upholstered part, characterised by a covering with a light ripple on the front and rear, conveying a message of elegance and lightness upon first impact. Conceived for hotels and restaurants, it is also suitable for home interior use.

Macaron actually resembles a French macaroon. Two overlapping seat layers harmoniously converge with warm ash or walnut finishings for a look that combines lounge and home, offering a perfect interpretation of Piaval’s contract soul.
