The Molteni Group is opening a new window on the world in the heart of Manhattan, at 160 Madison Avenue. This will be one of the first and only Flagship Stores in the world to combine the Group’s three brands: Molteni&C, Dada, and UniFor.
A refined project that “brings Italian style and elegance into a classic New York home/ building. Style and elegance that are reflected in close attention to the materials, details and craftsmanship of the portals, the travertino floor and the magnificent walnut staircase.” to quote Vincent Van Duysen, who designed the space.

The concept defining this space – measuring over 12,500 square feet with four shop windows – is played out over two levels linked by a unique staircase. The architectural design is faithful to the original features of the building, has kept its volumes and preserved the perception of the lofty ceilings. The separating walls subdivide generous volumes, interspersed by tall travertino marble-clad portals.

The whole experience is like a real journey between the rooms of an elegant Italian villa resting on New York soil, at the center of the world. A high-impact scenic space that contains, frames and enhances the products of the new collections designed by Vincent van Duysen, Rodolfo Dordoni, Ron Gilad, Foster + Partners, Jean Nouvel and Patricia Urquiola, among others.

To celebrate its opening, on friday during NoMad night, the new Flagship Store in New York will host a collection of works by contemporary artists. This installation represents the natural follow-up of “The Collector’s House” project curated by Caroline Corbetta for the Molteni&C stand at the recent Salone del Mobile. Art works by young artists showcased alongside great design classics from various decades, such as a Gio Ponti armchair or a Jean Nouvel table, but also pieces making their debut on the market, like the chair by the young designer Francesco Meda and the new sofa designed by Van Duysen.
