Projected on an evolutionary walk which in recent times has led the brand towards a rapid and significant innovation of its stylistic canons, Opera Contemporary is stepping out onto emerging markets with a new identity. An aesthetic awareness that is palpable in the new catalogue Opera Volume 3, containing the 2017 and 2018 collections which exude formal connotations and a strong, multi-material impact. A catalogue set to inspire an array of retail solutions by means of compositions which convey the brand’s renewed and coordinated image.
Salone del Mobile is the perfect showcase for previews of new products and new furnishing scenographies set to feature in the brand’s shops throughout the world. Starting from China. Two Opera Contemporary showrooms are scheduled for inauguration next month, in Shanghai and Hangzhou, in the heart of the Far East which has developed into a veritable reference market, where the brand has implemented its presence by means of projects, distribution and exhibition events (Salone del Mobile.Milano Shanghai in particular).
Five interiors proposed at the company’s exhibition space during the Salone are destined to become retail network models. Two living rooms, a dining area, lounge area and a bedroom. Elegant ambience, intense colours, heterogeneous and eclectic finishings. Large elements are accompanied by a constellation of accessories which convey the richness and functionality of interiors.
In perfect continuity with the concept launched last year, numerous latest additions are an evolution of products which first made their début during last year’s edition, such as the Wendy round table (it is no coincidence that it is dedicated to the Chinese public), which dominates in the dining room, a large-scale development of the Ludmilla side table (with a diameter of 180 cm). We also have a new, enhanced-comfort version of the Lucille sofa, named Kathy, featuring a bean shape, along with the Esther mirrors which draw inspiration from the Cyrano side table, in terms of the balanced combination of mirror glass and marble. The iconic Butterfly has inspired a brand new Dorothy bed featuring a singular headboard with attached night tables. The bench Fritz is a step up from the eponymous ottoman, with whom it shares the same generous volumes and button upholstery. Among large elements, the Ferdinand sofa stands out in particular, featured in different compositions: three-seater and curved corner. Stefano Zecca, Brand Manager explains: “New upholstered proposals are mostly modular. This solution enables us to speed up our response to customers for shorter delivery times. Opera Contemporary’s primary markets are in fact geographical opposites: China and America, so shortening distances is a top priority for us”.
