Claire Pijoulat and Odile Hainaut, who, for the 7th edition, are presenting an intense calendar and important participations in the two Manhattan sites, at the Terminal Stores from 20 to 23 May, and in Brooklyn, at Industry City from 17 to 23 May, in a month full of events and opportunities for the design professionals of New York and NYCxDesign. WantedDesign takes a different approach to traditional trade fairs: it aspires to bring together designers and international producers interested in developing their business in the United States and to attract a highly qualified, diverse audience of architects, companies, interior designers, buyers, curators, journalists, trend setters and students, encouraging them to share ideas and views. The numerous initiatives at the two locations focus on themes such as cultural exchange, for example with France with OUI Design, Transatlantic Creative Exchange and Hors Pistes, and also feature international collectives: Argentina, Barcelona Design Centre, Business France, Fresh from Brazil, Pro Mexico, Quebec Design and Ventura NYC The Dutch Edition. Another international collaboration is the traveling Outside the Box 6.0 show created together with The Toronto Design Offsite Festival with design objects presented by over 100 firms. A second exhibition, Wanted Interiors, organized with Sony Life Space UX and with the support of Alcantara, Alpi, Ligne Roset and FontanaArte, instead offers new interactive ways to discover products and producers in the exhibition project by the students of the Pratt Institute School of Design. Students, as well as young, independent designers, are also the stars of initiatives related to future design, such as the Hyper Hybrid workshop, the Career Day, the Launch Pad competition in the lighting and furniture categories, and the American Design Honors award that will be assigned to Studio Gorm this year.
