The Hub dominates the San Francisco Design Week

Culture in first position for the Yerba Buena Centre for the Arts, partner of the San Francisco Design Week with the central location The Hub, where many workshops and conversations come one after the other with exclusive guests

Platform of excellence within the San Francisco Design Week is The Hub, location that hosted the awaited Opening Reception of the event – on June, 2 – into the Yerba Buena Centre for the Arts. The attendees of the inauguration was also able to  visit galleries and special projects within the YBCA.

The Hub took part in the seven day event of the West Coast housing a large parterre of events – from talks to workshops – from June, 2 to 4.

Playing with Type is the initiative in pole position of Lara McCormic, designer, educator and author of Playing with Type: 50 Graphic Experiments for Exploring Typographic Design Principles. Her workshops and presentations on typography focus on everything from fundamentals to web type to experimentation, and she continues to explore new ways of making and implementing letterforms.

Multiple guests accepted to make their skills available during Design Culture: Inside and Out with Medium, NerWallet and Intercom, where the culture of creativity has been deeply explored. This one, protagonist within the Landing the Job You Really Want, a conversation between Kristine Arth and Qin Li about the relationship between brand design and product development.

The most important museums of the city gave their contribution: Jennifer Sonderby (Design Director of SFMOMA), Rhonda Rubinstein (Creative Director of California Academy of Sciences) e Dan Meza (Graphic Design Director of Fine Arts Museum) animated the event Nights and Days at the Museum. Following workshop about theory of Design Decision Making, conversation about 1975 NASA Graphics Standards Manuel Reissue, tours of the artistic centre Yerba Buena,

closed by a presentation of the History of Design in the Silicon Valley.
