Spotlight on Fuksas’Bolle

Tim Berners-Lee wanders around the Bolle designed by Fuksas, at the headquarters of the Nardini distillery. For the new TIM commercial, the company has chosen the futuristic headquarters in Bassano del Grappa, to talk about their shared goal of creativity and technology

As the backdrop to its new commercial, TIM has chosen the architectural jewel designed by the Fuksas duo for Nardini’s headquarters. Accompanied by an outstanding public figure – Tim Berners-Lee, the inventor of the World Wide Web – the Italian phone company launches its new logo in a location that perfectly represents its message: creativity, technology and the dissemination of ideas and culture. These are the ideals that led to the creation of the Bolle (bubbles), designed by Massimiliano and Doriana Fuksas for Nardini’s 225th anniversary (in 2004), a company synonymous with excellence in the field of grappa and spirits.

The Bolle are located in the Bassano del Grappa business park: they form a unique architectural structure, created to enshrine the entrepreneurial spirit of the company, which was founded in 1779 and is now in its seventh generation. A metaphor for the secret art of distillation, with a design that evokes a still, the structure consists of two transparent ellipsoid bubbles that allow a 360-degree view of the surrounding landscape of Monte Grappa, almost floating above an area of reflective water. The location also connects to an external staircase that can be used as outdoor stalls for events. The Bolle themselves house a laboratory, for daily quality control of Nardini’s products, and spaces dedicated to the cultural promotion of grappa and other products. History, innovation and culture coexist in perfect harmony.
