Rosita Missoni and the new moods by Missoni Home

Among the greats attending M&O, there is also Rosita Missoni, who we have met at Missoni Casa exhibition space. Here we chat about her relationship with interior and the new moods of the brand.

First stop of the year, Scènes d’intérieur Paris. IFDM has met Rosita Missoni in the new Missoni Home stand – with a new position at Hall 8 –  at Maison&Objet Paris.

«Missoni Home has been representing my working life since 20 years, fashion is beautiful but all-consuming, furniture and home are a limitless engine of ideas and novelties, of changes and contaminations: I love the home sector because it is never the same, it reinvents itself and allows to create constant stylistic evolutions».

IFDM has also asked to Rosita Missoni her opinion on the initiative of joining fashion brands with home collections in one space at Salone 2016.

«It seems a great idea to me! Who lived and lives in high-end fashion world craves never-ending comparisons and, above all, loves to surround themselves with “similar individuals”, so I am positive and optimistic about the initiative of the upcoming Salone del Mobile».

At the Parisian event, Missoni Home presents 3 new moods for the interior design and an outdoor line.

Oriental flowers and iconic symbols. Multitudes of Greek keys and small chevrons aligned on jacquard fabrics are the leitmotif of Oriental Garden (presented with a night space and a sofa).

FIREWORKS FR is a festival of the iconic flame design, it is “a very Missoni pattern”. The fabric is reversible: rainbow flames on either black or white backdrop, destined for a wide sofa upholstery.
Anemones (designed for a bed and a sofa) works with the beautiful and simple shape of anemones: gigantic or tiny flowers with a beautiful surreal impact. In this interpretation, also the pistils become flowers, playing a game of ‘flower in the flower’. The black & white contrasts intensify the freshness of the shades. Flames in black & white and white & black alternate with small patchworks coordinated with anemones . In the bed, floral decorations combine with flame stripes, in black & white but also in white and coral or white and teal alongside countless precious woven geometries.
The great English mixed borders, a floral galaxy of flowers, along with a longing for summer and fresh air is the mood of Flower Galaxy. The overflowing flowers are pleasantly combined with the simplicity and freshness of the rainbow stripes. All fabrics are outdoor quality and 100% waterproof.
