The latest building and lighting trends showcased in Frankfurt

The ninth edition of Light + Building, the largest International exhibition dedicated to lighting and smart building, will be held in Frankfurt from 13 to 18 March 2016. 2500 exhibitors from 50 countries will be there to welcome 210,000 visitors.

Organized by Messe Frankfurt, Light + Building – the world’s number one trade fair event for lighting and smart building techniques – will be back in Frankfurt from 13 to 18 March 2016.

Having reached its ninth edition, the event offers an exceptional opportunity to showcase innovation and trends pertaining to the sectors of lighting, lighting technology and automation systems for homes and buildings.

The main themes of the 2016 edition will be the fundamental role played by digital technology in designing modern living spaces and smart technologies, an essential element of today’s smart building projects.  Considerable space will be given over to topics regarding the design/functionality combo which is destined to define new trends in the lighting industry.

At the 2014 edition, out of a total of  2,458 exhibitors from 50 countries, Italy came out top in terms of exhibition space occupied (around 18,000 sq m out of a total surface area of 245,000 sq m) and was second only to China for the number of visitors.

For the coming edition, 2,500 exhibiting companies have already confirmed their participation and 210,000 visitors are expected to flock to the show.

The event also offers a densely packed programme of collateral events, such as the Digital Building exhibition and forums dedicated to interior design technologies and trends.

Furthermore, in the centre of Frankfurt, visitors can drop in on Luminale, the lighting culture biennial exhibition,  which will be presenting about 100 lighting installations to more than 140,000 visitors from all over the world.
